Labour law reforms

Labour law advisory services are a key means through which the Office promotes the effective implementation of ILO standards and the exchange of good comparative practices on labour regulation. They play a central role in strengthening the rule of law and good governance in the field of employment and labour worldwide, promoting tripartite consultations on law reform processes. Particular attention is given to expanding the effective coverage of labour laws and to assessing the role and impact of labour law and dispute prevention and resolution systems in fostering workplace compliance and effective labour market governance.

Enhancing the institutional capacities of labour administration and labour inspection services in relation to labour law reforms and enforcement mechanisms is an integral component of the Office’s technical assistance in this area.

ILO Conventions, protocols and recommendations play a crucial role in guiding labour law reforms and policy-making processes worldwide.
