Conditions of Work and Equality Department (WORKQUALITY)
The Department on Conditions of Work and Equality (WORKQUALITY) leads the ILO’s efforts to promote quality employment and advance equality for all in the world of work. Our goal is to ensure that all workers, women and men alike, benefit from decent working conditions, fair treatment, and inclusive labour protection. To achieve this, we support the strengthening of labour market institutions and the implementation of effective, inclusive policies and measures that uphold workers’ rights and foster equal opportunities.
WORKQUALITY brings together a multidisciplinary global technical team that conducts cutting-edge research and provides policy and programme guidance to ILO constituents and partners worldwide.
The department is composed of three specialized branches:
- Inclusive Labour Markets, Wages and Working Conditions Branch (INWORK): Supporting fair wages, sound working conditions, and inclusive labour market policies.
- Labour Migration Branch (MIGRANT): Promoting fair and rights-based labour migration governance and protection of migrant workers.
- Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Branch (GEDI): Advancing gender equality and inclusion of all workers.
Together, we work towards building a world of work that is fair, inclusive, and decent for all.
