The social dimension of the ecological transition – Phase II
Accelerating climate action is reshaping labour markets worldwide, making a just transition essential to ensure decent work and social inclusion. As countries increasingly embed just transition commitments into their national climate plans (nationally determined contributions NDCs), momentum is shifting from principles to implementation. This project, a key pillar of the France–ILO partnership (2025–2029), supports this shift by helping countries translate climate plans into job-rich, inclusive policies. The project focuses on integrating the social dimension into NDC implementation, strengthening strategic sectors and sustainable local enterprises to drive social justice and economic resilience.
