Agriculture remains to be the sector where most children engaged in child labour can be found. Northern Mindanao had the highest proportion of child labour, where three in every ten children aged 5 to 17 years (29.6 per cent) were working, and one in every ten were from the former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in 2011, now the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Project objectives:
- Support the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government to develop effective strategies to combat child labour.
- Integrate child labour issues into social, economic and developmental policies.
- Promote universal education.
- Develop a skilled labour work force in an institutionalized manner.
