Practical information

• Measures during the G7 summit in Evian

  Swiss authorities will implement extensive security measures during the G7 summit in Evian from 15–17 June, with significant impacts on travel and mobility across Geneva and the surrounding cross-border region from 12–18 June. Border crossings between between the Canton of Geneva and France will only be permitted at seven crossing points: Anières, Moillesulaz, Thônex-Vallard, Bardonnex, Perly, Meyrin and Ferney-Voltaire. Crossings via Cornavin and Annemasse stations and Geneva Airport will also remain permitted, with increased controls and longer waiting times expected. Crossing at any other land or lake location will be prohibited.

  Traffic disruptions are expected on major roads, motorways and around Geneva Airport. Geneva Public Transport (TPG) will continue operating from 15–17 June, although some routes — particularly cross-border services — may be reduced or disrupted.

  On Sunday 14 June, a large demonstration is planned in central Geneva on the right bank. Delegates are strongly advised to avoid the city centre. Further information is available on the official websites of the Republic and Canton of Geneva Communiqué hebdomadaire du Conseil d'Etat.

Transport and access

• Transportation: shuttle, bus, taxi

  A shuttle bus service will circulate at frequent intervals daily between the ILO and the Palais des Nations, and the ILO and the CICG. The use of seatbelts in the shuttle bus is mandatory.

  The shuttle runs according to the following schedule:

  Sunday, 31 May	from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (between ILO and CICG only)
  Monday to Saturday	from 7:00 a.m. until the end of the Committees’ sittings
  Friday, 12 June	from 7:30 a.m. until the end of the closing sitting

  Pedestrians will be able to exit the Palais des Nations via the Pregny Gate and the Peace Gate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This should allow delegates exiting the Palais des Nations late at night to exit via the Peace Gate, should they wish to have a more direct access to the public transport (tram and bus) stops at the Place des Nations.

• Car parking

  Owing to parking restrictions at the Palais des Nations, delegates are requested to leave their cars in the ILO car park and to use the shuttle service between the ILO and the Palais.
  
  Permanent Missions are kindly requested to refer to the Note verbale from the ILO informing them of the procedure for vehicle access to the Palais des Nations and temporary passes for drivers from Diplomatic Missions for the Conference.

• Public access

  Due to prevailing security measures at the Palais des Nations, it will not be possible to accommodate visitors on its premises during the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference. However, it will be possible to follow plenary proceedings of the Conference remotely through the webcast on the ILO website.

  Those interested in committee work should email [email protected], indicating which committee they are interested in, so that they may receive a Zoom link allowing them to follow public sittings of the committee’s proceedings.

General services and facilities

• Internet access

  Conference participants will be able to access the public Wi-Fi network at the Palais des Nations (called “UNOG-Public-Wifi”) at the CICG (called "CICG_26" using the password "Conf2026") and at the ILO building (called “ILO-Public”).

  "cyber"spaces are accessible at:

  • the Palais des Nations Building A, Concordia Hall;
  • the CICG building, on floor -1;
  • the ILO building, in front of room Jura, in the Library (R2 South).
• Library and information services

  Labordoc is the ILO Institutional Repository, which houses print, electronic resources and digital publications produced in Geneva and ILO offices around the world.

• Delegates with disabilities

  All meeting locations are accessible and in all possible measures inclusive for all.
  
  The onsite maps indicate the location of toilets and other facilities. An adapted shuttle is also available to facilitate transfers from the ILO to the Palais des Nations, from CICG to the Palais des Nations and from CICG to the ILO.

• Toilets

  At the Palais des Nations, CICG and ILO buildings, toilets for persons with disabilities are available and signposted.

  Tampons and sanitary pads are freely available in the women’s toilets close to the meeting rooms.

  At the ILO, the location of those toilets is indicated on the maps. Other personal sanitation items can be purchased from the Kiosk on R2 South.

• Bank

  The UBS offices located at the Palais des Nations are currently undergoing renovations. The branch in Vermont-Nations temporarily serves UNOG activities.

  An ATM machine is available in the ILO building (R2 North entrance) at all times.

  At the ILO

  The UBS office is located outside the ILO building in the nearby Green Village at 42, chemin du Pommier (+41 22 749 20 11).

  The ATM is located on R2 North.

• Post office

  The post office at the ILO building has closed. Nevertheless, delegates can still access the postal services at the Palais des Nations, now located at the SAFI store (on the building ground floor), open from Monday to Friday, between 11.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.

• Nursing facilities

  The ILO Medical Service (MEDSERV) manages a breastfeeding room located outside the entrance to MEDSERV at R3 North. Any staff and conference participants who would like to use this facility must first register with the nurses by sending an email to [email protected] or calling +41 22 799 71 33. The key to the nursing room should be collected from MEDSERV between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  
  Outside these hours, please collect the key from the Security Control Centre (R3 North) open 24/7.

• Rest, prayer and meditation rooms

  Prayer room at the Palais des Nations, the ILO and the CICG

  There is a prayer room for the use of delegates at the ILO, office R2-20 North side near the photo booth and a meditation room in R1 North close to the entrance of the Department of Communication and Public Information. A room is available in CICG at -1 level, left hand side from the main entrance. Do follow the signage.

  Rest room at the ILO

  A rest room is located at R2 North next to the prayer room. The size is temporarily reduced due to the renovation works. Should you not be feeling well, we recommend you avoid using the rest room and contact MEDSERV for assistance.

• Luggage

  In view of the constant reinforcement of security and safety measures, it is reiterated that it is forbidden to leave luggage or parcels unattended.
  
  Delegates are kindly reminded that they are not permitted to bring voluminous luggage into the United Nations premises, the CICG, and ILO building (only aeroplane cabin-sized bags will be allowed). Furthermore, they will not be authorized to transport voluminous luggage in the shuttle buses.
  
  A dedicated area (with very limited capacity) for depositing luggage will remain available at the ILO building (level R2 North). Deposits in this room are the sole responsibility of the depositor; the ILO will decline all responsibility in case of loss or theft.

  At the Palais des Nations, please contact the information desk at Door 40, E building.
