This Child Labour Stand-alone Surveys Compendium offers governments a specialized tool to conduct focused surveys dedicated exclusively to the issue of child labour. By implementing a stand-alone child labour survey, governments can gain a deeper understanding of the issue, which is crucial for developing targeted policies, interventions, and programmes to address and prevent child labour.
This Child Labour Stand-alone Surveys Compendium includes three modules:
The household-based Model questionnaire: This questionnaire is designed to collect comprehensive data on the extent, nature, and root causes of child labour within a specific country or region.
The Interviewer's manual: This manual is designed to enable interviewers and team leaders to perform their data collection functions for the Model questionnaire under optimal conditions.
The National adaptation guide for Pen-and-Paper Interviews (PAPI): This guide provides more detailed information on response options, the purpose of each question and issues to consider in the adaptation of each question to the national context. It also provide additional information on cognitive testing and counting rules associated with the key child labour indicators.
