ILO invites business leaders to new webinar series on key workplace challenges
Second season of the “Business is not as usual” webinar series brings together EBMO leaders, researchers and CEOs to explore emerging challenges, share insights and strengthen leadership in a rapidly changing world of work.
GENEVA (ILO News) – A new season of the “Business is not as usual” webinar series will bring together senior leaders of Employers’ and Business Membership Organizations (EBMOs) to explore how business institutions can adapt and lead in a rapidly changing global environment. The second season of the series, that will be launched on 27 April 2026, offers a platform for dialogue between academic researchers, thought leaders and chief executives. It aims to equip EBMO leaders with evidence-based insights and practical perspectives to strengthen their organizations and enhance their impact on labour markets and the wider business environment.
Across six sessions, the series will address key themes shaping the future of EBMOs, including their evolution, responses to employment laws, and their role in collective bargaining in less regulated labour markets. Other sessions will examine how institutions contribute to prosperity, the implications of digital transformation for labour market governance, and new forms of representation for underrepresented business groups. The series also considers how EBMOs can navigate increasingly complex and uncertain operating contexts.
Each webinar will feature a concise presentation of research findings, followed by expert commentary and an interactive discussion with participants. The format is designed to encourage peer exchange in a collaborative and confidential setting, enabling participants to reflect on shared challenges and opportunities.
The series is tailored for senior management and board members of EBMOs worldwide. By combining academic insights with practitioner experience, it seeks to support strategic decision-making, leadership development and stronger institutional positioning in a changing world of work.
Participants will also have the opportunity to expand their professional networks and engage directly with leading experts from universities, business schools, think tanks and large enterprises.
