Our work with journalists

As part of our commitment to eliminating child labour in Africa, the ACCEL Africa project works closely with journalists to ensure that relevant information about child labour in supply chains is documented and communicated to a wider audience. Under Output 3.4, we are committed to ensuring that relevant information on child labour in supply chains in Africa is documented and communicated to a wider audience. This involves empowering journalists to report ethically and effectively, raising awareness about child labour and influencing policy changes that benefit children and their communities.

Through our media initiatives, we empower journalists to document and share compelling stories that inspire change and drive action. Our work includes providing tailored training on ethical reporting and launching platforms like the Voices Against Child Labour media competition and training, which highlights the realities of child labour in Africa’s supply chains.

We collaborate with media professionals to ensure that child labour stories are told with accuracy, dignity, and impact, helping to shine a light on the need for urgent solutions across sectors such as cocoa, coffee, tea, and gold mining. By amplifying these voices, we aim to foster greater understanding and mobilize communities, policymakers, and stakeholders to take meaningful action.
