A think piece on apprenticeship development in Africa

Promoting better linkages between informal apprenticeship and formal systems.

This Think Piece on apprenticeship development in Africa distils practice-informed mechanisms to make apprenticeship systems more responsive to social dialogue, better governed, sustainably financed, and credibly linked across formal and informal pathways, drawing on the ILO’s Quality Apprenticeships Recommendation, 2023.

It was developed as part of the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), as a joint knowledge product between the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
