South4Care: strenghtening South-South cooperation for the care economy
The launch of the South4Care platform will convene global leaders, social partners, and UN agencies to showcase care policy innovations from the Global South, with ministerial statements, partner dialogues, and the first Learning Hub session paving the way for future regional editions.

What is South4Care online platform?
South4Care is a platform designed to strengthen collaboration among countries of the Global South in building inclusive and sustainable care economies. It brings together governments, employers, workers, and international partners to share solutions and accelerate action.
The initiative has two interconnected components:
- South4Care Platform – An online space hosted on the ILO Global Care Policy Portal. It provides illustrative practices on how countries are advancing their commitments and resources to promote peer learning and exchange of good practices across regions.
- South4Care Learning Hub – A capacity-building programme delivered biennially in collaboration with the ILO International Training Centre (ITC-ILO, Turin). Rotating across ILO regions, it will train policymakers and social partners on designing, financing, and implementing integrated care policies, aligned with the ILO’s 5R Framework for Decent Care Work (Recognize, Reduce, Redistribute unpaid care; Reward paid care work; and Represent care workers).
