ILO conducts a Digital Employment Diagnostic in Mongolia
The ILO-Formalization of the Informal Economy Project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Protection and NRCC LLC, organized the first stakeholder consultation workshop to conduct a Digital Employment Diagnostic in Mongolia on 30 March 2026.
MONGOLIA (ILO News) - A total of 46 participants from the tripartite constituents attended the workshop, 38 participants in person and 8 participants virtually. The objective of this workshop is to consult with social partners and stakeholders on the research methodology and scope of work. The digital employment diagnostic will provide essential information for national policy and strategic planning.
In order to validate the survey findings, develop policies, and set priority directions in the areas of the platform economy and related digital employment, several meetings involving stakeholders will be organized throughout the research. The diagnostic analysis is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2026.
Participants highlighted the significance of the current status and challenges of digital employment in the context of the platform economy. This was an important step in launching foundational research for digital employment policy development in Mongolia.
