Coopération OIT/MINTP

Recruitment of a consulting firm for the baseline/need assessment in the Employment Intensive Investment (EII) approach in the EII/MINTP project intervention zone in the North-West Region

Within the framework of the Ring Road HIMO/MINTP project in the Northwest region of Cameroon, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has a series of studies that must be carried out to inform the execution process and orientate our activity choice and beneficiaries. This study will provide us with valuable baseline statistics which we shall use to measure the progress of our response as well as inform some key decisions that will need to be taken to select and retain project sites.

The goal of this consultancy is to assess the various developments in the Project Intervention zone (PIZ) in terms of population needs, availability of labour and materials, and to collect baseline data for the project (demographic, economic, social, entrepreneurial, etc). This will lead to the achievement of the following expected results:
• Carryout sensitization campaigns for young men, women and youth in the project zone of intervention on the EII approach.
• Present a list of possible construction and public works jobs available within the PIZ.
• Present the construction and public works training needs for these populations in order to contribute to the construction of the identified infrastructures as workers.
• Presence a concise list of existing Communal Road Committees (CRC) and where potential ones can be created
• Identification of existing cooperatives and economic groups in the PIZ.
• Identification of local materials and local material transformation and vulgarization centres in the PIZ. .
