The ILO Office for the USA and Canada, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau, will host a virtual roundtable to discuss current efforts to address gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work. This roundtable is spurred by the momentum generated by adoption of the International Labor Organization’s latest convention in June 2019: Convention 190, to eliminate Violence and Harassment in the World of Work, including gender-based violence and harassment. Participants will explore how collaboration and strategy can help drive progress domestically on C190’s groundbreaking approach. Building off of the webinar hosted by the ILO in March 2022, the program will feature efforts undertaken by local governmental officials, workers’ rights advocates and employer representatives to adopt state and local policies, legislation, collective bargaining language and other worker-led efforts to prevent and address gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work.
