Supervision of Convention No. 169 and No. 107

The ILO has mechanisms for supervising the application of ILO Conventions in law and practice following their ratification by States:
  • The Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR) periodically examines government reports, also taking into account comments from by workers’ or employers’ organizations, and issues observations and direct requests.
  • The Committee on the Application Standards (CAS) of the International Labour Conference holds discussions on the application of Conventions.
  • Tripartite committees of the Governing Body examine representations.
