ILO Training package on the Code of practice on safety and health in construction
This training package offers a flexible and comprehensive resource for everyone involved in construction projects – from clients and design teams to project managers, employers and their representatives, and workers and their representatives.
The construction sector plays a key role in job creation and economic growth, but it also faces some of the highest occupational hazards and risks. Ensuring occupational safety and health (OSH) is key to protecting workers’ safety and well-being and supporting business sustainability. Evidence shows that integrating OSH principles from the earliest design phase leads to safer workplaces and higher-quality results.
This training package draws on the ILO Code of Practice on Safety and Health in Construction (2022). It is designed to support national implementation of the code and to promote the fundamental right to a safe and healthy working environment in the sector.
This training package offers a flexible and comprehensive resource for everyone involved in construction projects – from clients and design teams to project managers, employers and their representatives, and workers and their representatives.
Developed in a modular format, it can be adapted to different national contexts and training needs. It consists of ten modules with educational content, interactive activities, and practical examples, along with a instructor’s manual that guides effective use and delivery.
Designed as a global tool, the package is open to continuous improvement, and the ILO welcomes feedback from the OSH community.
