Taqeem Community of Practice Peer Learning Event, Turin 2016 6-8 April 2016 On 6-8 April 2016, members of the Taqeem CoP met at the ILO International Training Centre in Turin, Italy, for the first Peer Learning Event. Evaluating Youth Employment Programmes: An Executive Course, Turin 2015 22-26 June 2015 The five-day workshop aimed to provide participants with an overview of randomized evaluations and pragmatic step-by-step training for conducting one’sown evaluation. The goal in doing so was to introduce participants to rigorous impact evaluations and how such evaluation can be deployed in the context of labour market programmes.The advanced course was organized in collaboration with and on the grounds of the ITC-ILO in Turin.

Egyptian Policy Lab on Youth Employment, Amman 2015 30 April 2015 The Policy Lab provided a platform for youth serving organizations, policy makers, academics, researchers, international organizations and the private sector to collaborate on strengthening evidence-based policies in the field of youth employment in Egypt.

Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People project co-hosts the fourth Egyptian Forum for Youth Employment Promotion, Cairo 2015 23 April 2015 The roundtable discussion and workshop on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) brought together representatives of government institutions, the international community, civil society organizations and academic institutions to discuss M&E mechanisms to improve youth employment programmes in Egypt.

ILO and J-PAL Executive Education Course, Sharjah 2014 16-20 November 2014 The ILO and J-PAL Executive Education course is a five-day training on evaluating social programmes which provides participants with a thorough understanding of randomized evaluations and pragmatic, step-by-step guidance for conducting their own evaluations. The course was offered by the ILO and J-PAL and hosted by the American University of Sharjah from Sunday, 16 November 2014, to Thursday, 20 November 2014.

Evaluation Clinic for Value Chain Development projects, Bangkok, 2014 27-28 March 2014 The SME unit of the ILO under the “Making Markets work for Decent Work- the Lab” (M4DW) project in collaboration with the Youth Employment Programme held a two day Evaluation Clinic for value chain development projects on March 27-28 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand. The clinic's focus was on the use of RCT's as an impact measurement tool, but included other methods as well.

Evidence Symposium: What works to improve youth labour productivity?, Doha 2014 6-8 March 2014 The symposium brought together policy makers and practitioners with academics and researchers to present and discuss the evidence base for “what works” in increasing the employment and productivity of youth in the Middle East and North Africa regions.

Evaluation Clinic: Mesurer le succès d'interventions axées sur l'emploi des jeunes, Casablanca 2012 9-11 October 2012a The YEN hosted a training workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), which was held from 9 to 11 October 2012, in Casablanca, Morocco. The workshop served as a platform for collaboration between International organizations and Moroccan experts working in the field of youth integration.

Evaluation Clinic, Beirut 2010 9-10 December 2010 In continuing its pledge of providing assistance on rigorous evaluation to its partners in the Middle East and North Africa, YEN delivered its third Evaluation Clinic in Beirut on 9-10 December 2010. The Clinic was delivered as a side event following the Arab Urban Development Institute Child Protection Initiative (AUDI CPI) conference “Children &Youth in the MENA Region: Towards Unleashing their Potentials” from 6-8 December.

Evaluation Clinic, Damascus 2009 19-20 July 2009 On 19 – 20 July 2009 in Damascus, Syria, a YEN Evaluation Clinic was delivered to youth employment practitioners in the Middle East. The Clinic was hosted by the Syrian Trust for Development’s Shabab Programme as part of the Global Partnership on Youth Employment and Employability sponsored by the World Bank.

Evaluation Clinic: Measuring Results in Youth Employment Experience from training interventions, Amman 2009 20 January 2009 On January 20th, 2009, YEN convened a workshop entitled “Measuring Results in Youth Employment: Experience from training interventions” in Amman,Jordan. The workshop brought together youth employment practitioners from the MENA region with specialists from YEN’s core agency partners (ILO, World Bank and UN).
