Meaningful employers’ engagement: key to boost training funds’ quality in Sub-Saharan Africa

In 26 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, training funds are financed through employer levies and are typically overseen by tripartite boards.

Building on previous reviews of training funds (ILO, 2020; UNESCO, 2022), the ILO has conducted a qualitative assessment of employer engagement in these funds, examining whether the extent of employer involvement influences the overall quality and effectiveness of the funds.
