Decision concerning the report on the 20th American Regional Meeting (Punta Cana, 1–3 October 2025)

The Governing Body requested the Director-General to:

(a) draw the attention of the ILO constituents, in particular those of the Americas region, to the Punta Cana Declaration by making the text available to:

• (i) the governments of all Member States, requesting them to communicate the text to national employers’ and workers’ organizations;
• (ii) the international organizations and non-governmental international organizations concerned;

(b) take the Punta Cana Declaration into consideration when implementing current programmes and ensure its effective implementation in the context of future programme and budget proposals;

(c) submit to the Governing Body a document for information at its 356th Session (March 2026) and develop, in consultation with the constituents from the region, an implementation plan with clear targets based on the priorities defined in the Declaration to monitor the Organization's work in the Americas, for submission to the Governing Body at its 358th Session (November 2026);

(d) incorporate, in the biennial programme implementation report submitted to the Governing Body, information on the implementation of the Punta Cana Declaration.
