The Second Mission to Malawi under the STRENGTHEN2 project took place from 6 to 10 February 2023, in Salima Malawi. Within this timeframe, a three-day event highlighted awareness-raising and technical training on using economy-wide tools and models, such as the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) multiplier analysis, to conduct employment impact assessments. Participants included representatives of government ministries, including the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, the National Planning Commission and National Statistics Office, Malawi-based universities, think tanks, as well as employers’ and workers’ organizations. Bilateral discussions with key national stakeholders on further collaboration were also held.
