ILO Hosts Specialized Training Program for Social Security Institution and ISKUR Officials

Bolu (ILO News) - The International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Türkiye recently organized an intensive trainings program tailored specifically for officials from the Provincial Directorates of Social Security Institution and ISKUR. The comprehensive sessions aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants from Manisa, İzmir, Mersin, Adana, Şanlıurfa, and Kahramanmaraş, covering crucial topics in the field of labor rights, interagency collaboration, and psychological well-being in the workplace.
The trainings, spanning over two days, featured esteemed experts in various disciplines, offering insights and expertise to the attendees are as follows;
Session 1: Introduction - General Overview
Led by distinguished instructor Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz, this session provided a foundational understanding of the training program and offered a comprehensive overview of the topics to be covered.
Session 2: International Standards on Workers' Rights and an Overview of ILO's Refugee Labor Market Situation
Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz delved into international standards regarding workers' rights and shed light on the labor market situation for refugees from an ILO perspective.
Session 3: Teamwork - Interagency Integration
Prof. Dr. Kamil Orhan led this interactive session, focusing on fostering effective teamwork and promoting interagency integration to optimize organizational efficiency.
Session 4: Psychological First Aid and Empowerment
Prof. Dr. Kamil Orhan returned to guide participants through strategies for psychological first aid and empowerment in the workplace, emphasizing the importance of mental well-being.
Day 2:
Session 5: Future of Work
Instructor Salih Gökçe Görgeç explored emerging trends and challenges in the evolving landscape of work, equipping attendees with insights to navigate future developments. This session based on ILO Centenary Declaration for the Future of Work, 2019.
Session 6: Case Studies
Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz presented compelling case studies, allowing participants to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and enhance their problem-solving skills.
Session 7: Social Psychological Sensitivity
Prof. Dr. Kamil Orhan returned to delve into social psychological sensitivity, fostering empathy and understanding among officials to promote a supportive work environment.
Session 8: Workshop - Message to be Communicated to Institutions
Instructors Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karadeniz, Prof. Dr. Kamil Orhan, and Salih Gökçe Görgeç collaborated in a dynamic workshop, assisting participants in formulating effective messages to be communicated within their respective institutions.
Mr. Onur Öztürk, Head of Strategy Development of the Social Security Institution, and Mr Mehmet Tanriöver, Head of Internal Control Department, also attended this training programme. In his opening remarks, Mr. Öztürk shared his interest in the training programme and its content as part of their cooperation with the ILO. He expressed his thanks to ILO and all the trainers. Mr Tanrıöver, on the other hand, actively participated in all the training sessions and expressed his personal thanks at the end of the training, stating that he benefited a lot from the training.
The training program not only provided invaluable knowledge but also fostered networking opportunities among participants, facilitating the exchange of best practices and experiences. The ILO remains committed to supporting the capacity-building efforts of institutions in Turkey, striving for a more inclusive and equitable labor market for all.
These trainings are made possible through gift of the United States Government and cooperation by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration under the Supporting Resilience and Social Cohesion with Decent Livelihood Opportunities Project.
