GENEVA (ILO News) – The 356th Session of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Governing Body will be held at ILO headquarters in Geneva from 23 March–2 April 2026.

The session’s agenda will feature discussions on The ILO in a changing multilateral environment: Towards better effectiveness and efficiency, including an update on the Organization’s financial situation and progress in the implementation of reform measures.

The Governing Body will also consider The ILO’s Development Cooperation Strategy for 2026–29, outlining the Organization’s approach to partnerships and development cooperation in support of decent work priorities.

Members will further analyse possible initiatives that complement the body of international labour standards to ensure decent work in supply chains, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen protection for workers and responsible business conduct across global supply chains.

In addition, the Governing Body will review the implementation of the strategy to eliminate violence and harassment in the world of work. The six-year strategy, endorsed in 2019, concluded in December 2025, and the discussion will assess progress made and consider next steps.

Moreover, the Governing Body will examine country-specific developments, including follow-ups on the implementation of resolutions related to Belarus, Myanmar, Venezuela, Bangladesh, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia and Chile.

The Governing Body is the Executive Body of the International Labour Organization. It meets three times a year, in March, June and November, to take decisions on ILO policies, the agenda of the International Labour Conference, and the ILO Programme and Budget.
