ILO and INFOTEP successfully conclude SCORE Training programme in the Dominican Republic
Thanks to SCORE Training developed by the ILO and the implementation of INFOTEP, a group of professionals from the Dominican Republic were certified as business advisors to accompany their enterprises in the process of continuous improvement and to lead a culture of competitiveness.

A total of 15 professionals from the Dominican Republic were certified by the National Institute for Technical and Vocational Training (INFOTEP) in the SCORE Training, implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO), with the support of the Science and Technology Centre of Antioquia.
ILO Director for Central America, Haiti, Panama and the Dominican Republic, Leonardo Ferreira, explained that of the 15 advisors trained in SCORE Training, five received their certificates today as expert trainers.
"This means that INFOTEP is able to train new companies in SCORE Training as well as new SCORE trainers. The implementation included the training of a group of business advisors from the Institute, who received technical and methodological tools to train and accompany companies in their process of continuous improvement," said Ferreira.
For his part, Rafael Santos Badía, Director General of INFOTEP, pointed out that the benefits of this methodology are unquestionable and effectively proven, having an impact on improving the working environment and labour relations, increasing productivity, working conditions, eliminating delays, defects, waste and fostering a culture of competitiveness.
The SCORE Training implementation process began in 2016 in the Dominican Republic, based on a collaboration agreement signed between INFOTEP and the ILO.
Its implementation is supported by the project "Strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Labour to improve working conditions in Dominican agriculture", which is being implemented by the ILO with funding from the United States Department of Labor (USDOL).
Among the benefits of this methodology are the pursuit of an improved labour climate and labour relations, increased productivity and improved working conditions. It also helps to eliminate delays, defects and waste and to foster a culture of competitiveness.
Also during the activity, Alvaro Ramirez Bogantes, a specialist in technical vocational training at the ILO, gave a lecture on "Productive Transformation, Employment and Development: International Lessons for the Dominican Republic, in which he spoke about the main challenges and drivers of change in the world of work.
From his perspective, the transformative force that represents the current changes in society must be used in the Dominican Republic by investing in the talent of its people, especially by including women and young people in the fourth industrial revolution, and developing the productivity and innovative potential of its companies to successfully link them to global value chains.
