Match Format to Need
4 September 2023
How is the format your story going to take going to match whom the story is designed for? How will the delivery fit into their existing habits? How will you ensure that it is received and absorbed?
Professional communicators often start with the how and then focus on the what. You have started with the who, the why and the what. Now you can develop the how.
First, start with what media will you use to tell the story
This can include text, video, photo, audio, infographic, etc.
Then, decide how that content will be shared.
This can be through owned media, earned media, social media (general and targeted) or even interpersonal communication.
When you are deciding how and where to share your story, make sure you are keeping in mind the habits and patterns of the folks you’ve identified as actors.
