Learning Lab Series “Promoting decent work in the digital economy”

The Learning Lab Series “Promoting decent work in the digital economy” provides a rich platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative engagement. It was conceived as part of an Experts Network created by the International Labour Organization as part of the PROSPECTS Opportunity Fund Project “Promotion, inclusion and protection of refugees and host communities in the gig economy” jointly implemented with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
In a landscape where multiple UN agencies concurrently tackle similar objectives, the Learning Labs are a crucial junction for inter-agency synergy for making digital and connected jobs accessible to refugees and host communities.
The Learning Labs are a space to:
- Share knowledge and best practices
- Leverage the growing body of evidence on how to empower young people to used digital technologies to work and gain a livelihood
- Gain insights, gather lessons and access to relevant resources and networks
The Series amplifies the collaborative potential, promoting the sharing of lessons learned, brainstorming solutions for common challenges, and harnessing the collective expertise of participants. This enriched discourse shapes programme ideas and policy solutions, pushing forward the frontier of an inclusive, fair, and productive digital economy.
Each instalment of the Learning Lab Series “Promoting decent work in the digital economy” will provide participants with:
- a “learning memo” that concisely encapsulates valuable insights, data, and concrete proposals gathered during these collaborative exchanges
- a networking list of key actors actively supporting an inclusive digital transformation
- access to key information resources, news and latest research in the field
The ultimate goal remains the empowerment of refugees and host communities, enhancing their access to jobs and livelihoods within the evolving digital landscape.
