What is SCORE
SCORE is a Training programme that

Small and medium-sized enterprises are at the heart of local and national economies and make an essential contribution to social and economic development. In developing nations, the majority of all workers are believed to work in SMEs. Firms of this size are also the greatest source of new jobs.

SCORE is a Training programme that
- helps SMEs to adopt the productivity-boosting management approaches that give world-class companies their competitive edge. These techniques increase employee engagement and environmental awareness.
- promotes the adoption of responsible and sustainable workplace practices.

- SCORE Training can contribute to development in emerging markets in three ways: building enterprise efficiency, competitiveness and resilience
- improving conditions for work, and so increasing employee motivation and productivity
- helping enterprises to reduce waste and avoid negative impacts on the environment.

- To date, over 400 SMEs, representing over 76,000 workers, have taken SCORE Training
- SCORE Training has helped build capacity in more than 19 institutions (government organizations, industry associations, training organizations)
- SCORE Training has been delivered in nine countries: Colombia, Ghana, South Africa, China, Indonesia, India, Viet Nam, Bolivia and Peru.
The impact on participating enterprises:
- cost-savings: reported savings of up to US$5,000 within a 2-3 months training period
- lower defect rates: reported by 80% of companies
- lower energy use: average 2% KwH drop per production unit
- improved workplace relations: reported by 70% of companies
