Experts’ Meeting on the Pilot Implementation of the Mutual Recognition of Skills for the Logistics and Transportation Skills Area

The Experts’ Meeting is a follow-up activity to the 4th Regional Skills Technical Working Group Meeting that was held in Manila, the Philippines on 10-11 July 2018 where one of the agreements reached was to pilot implement the mutual recognition of skills (MRS) in ASEAN, as guided by the Roadmap. The forthcoming Experts’ Meeting will be participated by the ministries of labour from Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam along with the ILO, the member of the AQRF Committee, Thailand Professional Qualifications Institute and selected industry representatives. The objectives of the meeting will be to explore options and best practices for the pilot implementation of the MRS on Logistics/Transportation skills area among Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam; share preliminary benchmarking of skills/competency standards among and between the participating countries’ existing standards in the logistics and transportation skills area; and explore ways forward and necessary actions to be taken by the relevant parties, stakeholders and organizations in relation to the up-scaling of the pilot implementation of the MRS for the Logistics and Transportation Skills Area.
