Mutual Recognition of Skills in ASEAN

Since 2012, the ILO’s work on the mutual recognition of skills was initiated to assist the ASEAN Member States (AMS) in preparing for a region with a free flow of skilled labour. This factsheet provides a synopsis on the progression of the ILO’s work in assisting the AMS to move towards the mutual recognition of skills, from the preparatory stages to the current period where pilot implementation is endorsed, adopted and practiced.
