Follow-up to the outcome of the Second World Summit for Social Development

This document responds to the request of the Governing Body at its 350th Session, during which it decided to discuss the follow-up to the Second World Summit for Social Development (the Summit) in November 2025. It provides an overview of the outcome of the Summit and proposes a strategic approach to its follow-up. The Governing Body is invited to: (a) take note of the report on the Summit and its Doha Political Declaration (the Declaration); (b) endorse the three-pronged strategic approach to the follow-up to the Summit; (c) request the Director-General to report on a biannual basis to the Governing Body on the implementation of the strategic approach to the follow-up to the Summit (see the draft decision in paragraph 31). In version "Rev.1" of 14 November, corrections have been introduced to paragraphs 23 and 31(c).
