ILO BOUZOUR project is advancing climate-smart agriculture in Lebanon

A climate-smart agriculture initiative under the ILO BOUZOUR project is helping farmers in Lebanon adopt sensor-based irrigation systems that improve water efficiency, reduce input costs, and enhance crop quality.

Implemented with local agri-tech partners, the pilot equipped 15 farmers in Akkar and Bekaa with soil-monitoring technology connected to mobile applications, enabling real-time decision-making. By demonstrating the economic and environmental value of precision farming, the initiative aims to expand access to sustainable agricultural solutions and support more resilient livelihoods for Lebanese farmers and Syrian workers.
