Moldova (Republic of)
The Republic of Moldova has been an ILO member state since 1992. The country has ratified 44 ILO International Labour Standards (Conventions) and 1 Protocol, including all ten fundamental Conventions. 43 Conventions are in force. The Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 190) was ratified in December 2023. In June 2026 the Moldovan Parliament ratified the ILO Convention No. 156; it will formally enter into force in 2027.
Today, the country receives technical assistance and support from the ILO through a Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) 2025-2027, which focuses on three main priorities: strengthening social dialogue at all levels; enhancing labour and social protection for workers; and strengthening employment, skills, and enterprise development policies. This enables the ILO support for strengthening legislative and policy frameworks for inclusive and productive employment, formalization, and sustainable enterprises; enhancing the capacity of labour market institutions; improving enterprise productivity; promoting women’s economic empowerment and access to decent work; promoting social dialogue and supporting green skills development and a just transition, among others.
