Transformative Growth of the Care Economy in Türkiye: Advancing Equal and Sustainable Societies
The new ILO publication entitled “Draft Roadmap for a Transformative Growth of the Care Economy in Türkiye: Outcomes from the Training on Transformative Growth of Care Economy in Türkiye” marks an important step in Türkiye’s efforts to redefine care as one of the central elements of social and economic development.
Prepared within the framework of the United Nations Joint Programme on the Transformative Growth of the Care Economy in Türkiye, the publication brings together a collective vision and draft policy directions developed by national stakeholders to support equal and sustainable societies through a strengthened care economy.
Led by the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Türkiye and funded by the UN Joint SDG Fund, the Joint Programme was coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office and implemented in close cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with technical support from UN Women, UNICEF and UNFPA. The Ministry of Family and Social Services served as the primary national counterpart, while public institutions, social partners and civil society organizations played a central role in shaping and advancing the Programme’s outcomes.
