PROSPECTS Partnership Sudan: Strengthening Protection, Economic and Social Inclusion in the Midst of Crisis
This factsheet outlines the PROSPECTS Partnership’s support in Sudan amid the world’s largest displacement crisis. It highlights efforts to strengthen protection, education, decent work, social protection and critical infrastructure for refugees, IDPs and host communities, while promoting resilience, dignity and longer-term recovery.
This factsheet details how the PROSPECTS Partnership is supporting Sudan amid the world’s largest displacement crisis, where conflict has uprooted millions and severely disrupted livelihoods, education and essential services. It highlights the Partnership’s role in strengthening inclusive national and local systems for refugees, IDPs and host communities in comparatively more stable areas such as White Nile and Kassala.
Supported by the Netherlands and implemented by ILO, UNHCR and UNICEF, PROSPECTS works across four key areas: Protection and Social Protection, Education and Training, Employment and Access to Decent Work, and Critical Infrastructure.
These joint efforts have delivered tangible results, including legal status for 58,623 refugees and asylum-seekers, education support for more than 51,000 children and youth, nearly 3,000 wage- and self-employment opportunities, and access to clean water for 185,986 community members. The Partnership plays a vital role in complementing humanitarian assistance with longer-term solutions that promote resilience, dignity and recovery.
