PROSPECTS Partnership Iraq: Building Pathways to Inclusion and Opportunity for Forcibly Displaced People

This factsheet details how the PROSPECTS Partnership is supporting Iraq as it addresses complex displacement challenges, including more than 340,000 refugees and asylum-seekers and continued internal displacement. It highlights the Partnership’s role in strengthening Iraq’s legal, policy and institutional frameworks while expanding access to national systems and services for refugees, IDPs and host communities.

Supported by the Netherlands and implemented by IFC, ILO, UNHCR, UNICEF and the World Bank, PROSPECTS works across four key pillars: Protection and Social Protection, Employment and Livelihoods, inclusive Education and Training, and Critical Infrastructure.

These joint efforts have delivered tangible results, including legal assistance and case management for 260,557 individuals, education support for 366,781 children, 6,283 new job opportunities, and planned access to basic sanitation services for 14,034 displaced people and host community members. By connecting protection, learning, decent work and infrastructure, the Partnership helps displaced and vulnerable communities build skills, access services and pursue more dignified, sustainable futures.
