PROSPECTS Partnership Ethiopia: Strengthening rights, inclusion, and dignified opportunities
This factsheet details the PROSPECTS Partnership's support for Ethiopia's progressive policies. It focuses on integrating over one million refugees into national systems, enhancing their rights, and promoting dignified economic and social opportunities.
This factsheet details how the PROSPECTS Partnership is supporting Ethiopia's commitment to creating a more inclusive and prosperous future for all, including its more than one million refugees. The country has made significant strides toward inclusion, notably adopting the 2019 Refugee Proclamation and expanding the national Fayda digital ID system to include refugees.
Supported by the Netherlands, the coalition (IFC, ILO, UNHCR, UNICEF, and the World Bank) works to strengthen national systems across four pillars: enhancing Protection and Social Protection, promoting Economic Inclusion, supporting Education and Training, and investing in Critical Infrastructure.
These joint efforts have yielded tangible results, such as 6,501 individuals gaining work permits or business licenses and over 300,000 people benefiting from upgraded water supply infrastructure. The Partnership plays a vital role in integrating refugees into society and helping them access essential services and dignified opportunities.
