Labour inspection guide in preventing and handling discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence in the workplace

This guide supports the function of labour inspection in preventing and handling discrimination, and sexual violence in the workplace, and promoting gender equality in creating a respectful workplace.

Jointly developed by the ILO through the project Improving Workers' Rights in the Rural Sector with a Focus on Women and the Ministry of Manpower, with reference to national regulations and the ILO Convention, the guideline promotes an inclusive and respectful workplace in the labour inspection process. The book helps to sharpen workplace policies to promote gender equality and it summarises the essence of efforts to promote gender equality in labour inspection.

This book will guide labour inspectors on how to differentiate and address gender roles, indications of discrimination, sexual harassment and related matters that can have a significant impact on the work environment.

Funding is provided by the United States Department of Labor under cooperative agreement number IL‐35632-75-K. 100 per cent of the total costs of the project are financed with federal funds, for a total of 11 million dollars.
