Knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) gaps in environmental management in the textile and garment sector: Project highlights: Viet Nam

The ILO organized a consultation in Viet Nam on knowledge and skills gaps on environmental management in the textile and garment sector, The activity was conducted in partnership with Associate Professor Samantha Sharpe from the University of Technology Sydney’s Institute of Sustainable Futures; Professor Ian Miles, Emeritus Professor (Technological Innovation and Social Change) at the University of
Manchester (Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, Alliance Manchester Business School); and the ILO and Better Work country office in Viet Nam.

The activity used a combination of stakeholder mapping, interviews, and a facilitated workshop with knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) to better characterize technical skill deficits and learning processes for environmental impact assessment and management. This highlight note summarizes the activity and key findings, as well as proposing recommendations for future interventions.
