In 1997, the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act (IPRA) passed ground-breaking legislation in the Philippines and paved the way for the issuance of native titles. This is the second in a three-part volume that looks at a wide range of issues concerning the recognition of ancestral domains and the rights of indigenous communities in the country.

This volume looks at indigenous knowledge systems and practices in the Philippines that have survived successive waves of colonization and the onslaught of modernization.
