Employment in the circular economy: Leveraging circularity to create decent work

This report offers the first comprehensive estimate of the scale, structure, and characteristics of employment within the circular economy. Covering 177 countries, it examines circular economy employment in both the formal and informal economy. The study is the culmination of three years of collaboration between Circle Economy, the International Labour Organization, and the World Bank Group. It equips decision-makers with data and policy advice to shape circular economy, labour and just transition policies. Supported by the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) and with expert guidance from an international advisory board, this study will set the global standard for measuring circular economy employment.
