Decent Work Country Programme (2025 - 2031) - Republic of Maldives

This document outlines the Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) for the Republic of Maldives for the period 2025-2031. The DWCP provides a framework for the integration of ILO's contribution to national development initiatives and promotion of decent work in the wider development and poverty alleviation context.

Maldives' first DWCP was launched on 19 November 2025, following signature of a memorandum of understanding between the between the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development; the National Federation of Maldivian Employers (NFME); Maldives Trade Union Congress (MTUC), Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) for and on behalf of the Government of Maldives, employers’ organisations, and workers’ organisations; and the International Labour Organization Country Office for Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
