Working in Freedom in Jordan’s QIZs: supporting fundamental labour rights through the Al-Hassan Workers’ Centre Project aims at offering safe space for migrant workers in Jordan's industrial zones. It offers recreational, educational, and grievance referral services, fostering mutual support and solidarity among workers from different countries, including, Bangladesh, India, Madagascar, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, and Jordan.

The project's overall objective is to create an enabling environment for workers to enjoy the right to freedom of association and the advancement of other fundamental principles and rights at work.

Objective 1: Workers engage in fulfilling cultural, recreational activities and social events that also enhance their acceptance in Jordanian society.

Objective 2: The Workers’ Centre responds to the growing number of worker counselling and grievance resolution requests simultaneously enabling a better understanding of labour issues among migrant workers and tripartite constituents.

Objective 3: Workers and constituents demonstrate the capacity to influence legislative and policy measures to protect or advance Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW).

Objective 4: Strengthen the institutional capacity of the Workers' Centre Association, enabling it to evolve as a sustainable institution capable of addressing the emerging needs of QIZ workers, with a particular focus on migrant garment workers.

Outcome 1.1. The recreational profile of the Workers’ Centre is enhanced

Outcome 1.2. Workers are satisfied with daily recreational services while such services become more Sustainable

Outcome 2.1. Counselling and referral services delivered at/by the Workers' Centre are accessible, needs-based

Outcome 2.2. Improved migrant worker participation and representation in the governance mechanisms of the Workers’ Centre

Outcome 2.3. Enhanced cooperation with migrant workers' support organizations

Outcome 3.1. Greater worker awareness of the status of industrial relations combined with their enhanced capacity to suggest priorities and improvements in a context of social dialogue

Outcome 3.2. Constituents are informed by evidence collected by the Workers’ Centre regarding policy reforms in the sector

Outcome 4.1. Enhanced institutional capacity of the Workers' Centre Association (WCA) to continue to grow as an inclusive and representative body for all garment worker
