General Discussion Committee on Promoting Transitions towards Formality

The Committee met from Monday 2 to Wednesday 11 June 2025, according to its Plan of Work, in Room XIX at the Palais des Nations, to consider item VI of the agenda of the Conference.

The Plan of work of the Committee was composed of three segments:

2-3 June: General discussion in plenary of Committee based on Report VI – Innovative approaches to addressing informality and promoting the transition to formality for decent work.
5-6 June: Preparation of the draft Conclusions of the Committee by the Drafting group.
9-11 June: Discussion of amendments to the draft conclusions in plenary of Committee.

At its final sitting, the Committee adopted an outcome document (Conclusions) that was submitted to the plenary of the Conference for adoption on Thursday 12 June.
