Webinar Series on Decent Work and Responsible Business Conduct

Objective

The main goal of the webinar series is to boost the uptake and adoption of responsible business conduct (RBC) in key industries in Indonesia, particularly the electronics and wider manufacturing sectors, as part of a wider commitment to decent work and human capital development.

In particular, the webinar series will aim to: (a) improve awareness and understanding of the importance of responsible business conduct (RBC), in both theory and practice, in key sectors like electronics; and (b) discuss ways stakeholders can work together to scale up the application of RBC in these sectors and across the Indonesian business landscape and (c) identify the needs for a skilled labor force and discuss effective skills development measures to achieve a workforce capable of supporting and sustaining RBC practices.

Target Audience

The webinar will target at least 250 viewers (per episode) especially target policymakers, businesses and worker representatives working nationally and in key sectors, as well as being open to a general public audience. It is expected that at least 70% of the participants are from electronics sector.

Methodology and Tentative Schedules

Webinar series will be implemented by combining knowledge sharing through presentation follow by Q&A, including pre- and post-to capture knowledge improvement of audience from the webinar targeting relevant stakeholders of government, employers and workers organization in electronics sector and beyond.
Each single one and half hour’s webinar will be standardized and divided into three parts of introduction, presentation, Q&A and conclusions to be conducted the last Tuesday of each month. A special session on Skills Development and RBC will be held on October 2024 to provide intensive discussion on the topic. Timeline and duration of the webinar series will cover over six months. The webinars will also be accessible on ILO TV, and APINDO social media.

To ensure the continuation of participants attendance, the information should include the whole session as one class and link to each other and the certificate will be given to participants who attend the whole 7 sessions. When possible, the participants may also share their improvement of their RBC after attending some sessions.

Session topics

Across five to eight individual episodes, the webinar series should cover a range of current issues related to business and human rights, including -among others- normative and legislative frameworks, thematic deep-dives (e.g., on labour, decent work and skill development issues), and company and sector level case studies and good practices.
