Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, as amended (MLC, 2006)
Third Meeting of the Special Tripartite Committee of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006)
The third meeting of the Special Tripartite Committee established by the Governing Body in accordance with Article XIII of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) will take place at the ILO in Geneva from 23 to 27 April 2018.
The Special Tripartite Committee adopted:
Amendments The amendments adopted by the third meeting of the STC were approved, on 5th June 2018, by an overwhelming majority of the delegates to the 107th session of the International Labour Conference.The amendments were notified to member States on 26 June 2018, in accordance with Article XV, paragraph 6 of the MLC, 2006.
The period to express formal disagreement runs until 26 June 2020.
The amendments are expected to enter into force on 26 December 2020, in accordance with Article XV, paragraph 7 of the MLC, 2006.
