Launching of Pilot Enterprises on Effective Collective Bargaining Programme

To promote effective collective bargaining, the ILO will provide training and coaching to representatives of trade unions and management on negotiating and formulating collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in selected enterprises.

Background

“Labour Standards in Global Supply Chains: A programme of action for Asia and the garment sector” (LSGSC) is a programme of the International Labour Office (ILO), which aims to enhance the live of workers and decent work opportunities in the garment supply chains in Indonesia. The goal is expected to be achieved through promotion of effective collective bargaining, and enhancement of collaborative and evidence-based wages policy development.

To promote effective collective bargaining, LSGSC will provide training and coaching to representatives of trade unions and management on negotiating and formulating collective bargaining
agreement (CBA) in selected enterprises in its target areas, namely the districts of: Bandung, Subang, Tangerang, Semarang, Boyolali, Wonogiri, Klaten.

Having received commitment from seven factories to participate as pilot enterprises, LSGSC Project is organizing a half-day meeting to launch the LSGSC Pilot Enterprise on Effective Collective Bargaining programme, which will be conducted according to the following terms of reference.

Objectives

At the end of the launching it is expected that:
  • the seven enterprises would have signed their commitment of participation in the programme; and
  • participants of the meeting would have better understanding about activities to be implemented in order to achieve objectives of the programme.
