Workshop
Industrial relations for productivity and decent work and application of the self-assessment method for social dialogue institutions in Indonesia
The workshop aims to revitalize social dialogue and labor relations institutions, promoting growth, productivity, and decent work by familiarizing and training National Tripartite Council members on collaborative industrial relations and SAM-SDI.
The workshop on Industrial Relations for productivity and decent work and Application of the Self-Assessment Method for Social Dialogue Institutions (SAM-SDI) in Indonesia aims to strengthen collaboration among the government, employers, and workers' organizations to address post-COVID-19 challenges and promote recovery and growth. The ILO has developed a new tool, SAM-SDI, to improve the influence and impact of social dialogue by enhancing the inclusiveness and effectiveness of dialogue institutions.
Indonesia recognizes the importance of social dialogue and has advisory tripartite social dialogue mechanisms at national and provincial levels. However, the practice of tripartism and social dialogue faces fundamental challenges that need addressing. The workshop focuses on how effective collaboration between workers, employers, and the government can directly contribute to increased productivity and economic stability.
The workshop takes place in Jakarta on 7 May and in Bogor on 8-9 May 2025. The objective is to revitalize social dialogue and labour relations institutions and processes so that growth, productivity, and decent work are promoted. The workshop is held over three days, with the first day dedicated to industrial relations for productivity and decent work and the second and third days focused on SAM-SDI.
Facilitators and resource persons for the workshop include ILO senior Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations specialists from Bangkok and Geneva, and Ms. Lusiani Julia from ILO Jakarta. The ILO will provide ongoing support to the National Tripartite Council during and after the SAM-SDI process.
