ILO holds workshop on labour inspection policy and planning in Kuwait
The workshop aims to contribute to strengthening the institutional capacity of the labour inspectorate of Kuwait.

The ILO Regional Office for Arab States, in collaboration with the ILO International Training Centre, will hold a one-week course with the aim of provide participants with the information and guidance needed for the improvement and development the labour inspection capacity to ensuring labour law compliance.
Funded by Kuwait’s Public Authority of Manpower, the workshop will bring together 20 senior officials from the Authority who are involved in the decision-making processes of the Labour Inspectorate, as well as a number of workers and employers representatives.
It will address the main functions and roles of a modern labour labour inspection system, and expose participants to international experience and selected best practices to enable them to strengthen their labour inspection system.
During the workshop, the results of an assessment conducted by the Labour inspectorate will be presented and discussed, and ways to implement the recommendations of the assessment will be explored.

- Identify the main challenges for labour inspection in their country and formulate proposals for strengthening the labour inspection system and the operations of the Labour Inspectorate;
- analyse and discuss functions, roles and trends of labour inspection;
- use the ILO experience and main ILO Conventions and Recommendations on labour inspection as tools and reference for strengthening and/or re-designing the labour inspection system;
- apply new methods and tools in their labour inspection activities; and
- propose initiatives to improve or enhance their national system of labour inspection.
