Global Forum on Employment Impact Assessments (EmpIA) brings together global partners for evidence-based investment decisions and job-rich growth
Registration is now open for the Global Forum on Employment Impact Assessments (EmpIA) for Decent Work, taking place from 5–6 October 2026 at the ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin, Italy.
Promoting decent work and inclusive growth is central to the 2030 Agenda, yet investment and economic growth do not automatically translate into productive, inclusive and decent employment. EmpIAs provide an evidence-based approach to understanding how investments and policies create jobs, shape their quality and how this evidence can be used to inform pro-employment decisions.
Through the ILO-EU STRENGTHEN initiative, EmpIA methodologies, knowledge products and practical applications have been developed. The Global Forum will bring together governments, social partners, financial institutions, regional organizations, development partners, researchers and technical experts to exchange on their experiences using EmpIA and explore how these approaches can be systematically integrated into investment planning, project appraisal, budgeting, financing, monitoring and policy decision-making.
The Forum will combine high-level policy dialogue with practical technical exchange, including country and institutional experiences, methodological discussions, demonstrations of the EmpIA webtool, expert panels and interactive roundtables. Discussions will focus on three interconnected areas: strengthening technical application, embedding EmpIA in policy and institutional systems, and building partnerships and sustainable pathways for scaling its use.
Participants will have the opportunity to compare experiences across regions, explore practical tools and applications, identify entry points for institutional uptake, and connect with potential partners for technical cooperation, data partnerships and financing. The Forum is expected to bring together participants from Africa, the Arab States, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Participation in the Forum itself is free of charge. However, participating organizations would be expected to cover all other costs associated with participation, including travel, accommodation and other subsistence expenses for their representative(s).
