The Commemoration of the World Day of Safety and Health 2022 in Indonesia

ILO in Indonesia is going to conduct various activities to leading to the World Day of Safety and Health at Work from 28 March to 28 April 2022.

Objectives

Raise awareness on the issues in creating a positive safety and health culture in Indonesia;
Stimulate dialogue on the importance of ensuring safety and health at work but also ensuring business continuity; and
Advocate the adoption of best practices to improve safety and health at workplaces, particularly to mitigate COVID-19 virus transmission at workplace.

Series of Activities

28 March: OSH Media Gathering

Jointly conducted with the Ministry of Manpower to share strategic objectives in creating positive safety and health culture in Indonesia, and to present the vision and development for the OSH management system that is better suited to the changing world of work during and post-pandemic. The media gathering includes the launch of the joint e-Learning HIV Module developed by the ILO, Ministry of Manpower and the Indonesian Medical Association for Occupational Health (IDKI).

31 March - 21 April: OSH podcast series

The series will highlight an in-depth discussion and interview on OSH issues with a wide range of people in the world of work. The format is a series of 30-minute podcasts aired by KBR Radio Network, a leading radio network in Indonesia, every Thursday covering the following topics: under its podcast programme. This series of podcast programmes, broadcasted every Thursday from 30 March to 21 April, will cover the following sub-topics: OSH in the garment industry, OSH in plantation and palm oil sector, OSH in the fishing sector, and OSH and gender.

28 April: OSH webinar to mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022

Under the title "Creating a Positive Safety and Health Culture in Indonesia", the webinar will bring the views of the OSH experts, workers, employers on the following issues:

The OSH challenges: the emerging world of work and its workforce development needs, and OSH culture in perspective of Indonesians
Leadership in culture of safety: how employers and communities mainstream OSH at the centre to ensure healthy and safe workplaces for the future and shift mindsets
Collaborating for results: act together to build a positive safety and health culture
