Academy on Employment-Intensive Investment
This one-week Academy explores how employment-intensive investment in infrastructure can create decent jobs and support inclusive growth, offering participants practical tools, global insights, and hands-on learning.
Creating decent jobs for all is essential to achieving inclusive and sustainable growth (SDG 8). Strategic investment in infrastructure and other key sectors can drive economic activity, promote trade, and generate widespread employment. The ILO’s Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP) promotes such approaches, linking investment with job creation, skills development, and poverty reduction.
The Academy on Employment-Intensive Investment offers a one-week learning experience on how to integrate employment and decent work into national and sectoral development plans. Participants will explore current socio-economic trends, employment-intensive investment approaches, tools for job impact assessment, and pathways to greener and more formal economies.
The Academy will combine lectures, discussions, case studies, and group work, providing a unique platform for policymakers, practitioners, and development partners to share experiences and strengthen capacities for inclusive investment.
