Investigation and Inspection Unit (IIU)

The Investigation and Inspection Unit (IIU) of the Office of Internal Audit and Oversight (IAO) conducts investigations into a wide range of allegations including but not limited to:

• Workplace harassment, including sexual harassment (REPORT TO: [email protected])
• The IAO does not investigate allegations that do not constitute misconduct but rather indicates managerial issues or interpersonal issues.

• Fraud and Corruption:

  The ILO has zero tolerance towards fraud and corruption. In accordance with Office Directive, Policy against fraudulent and other proscribed practices, IGDS No. 69 (version 4), of 16 November 2021, any case of fraud or presumptive fraud, attempted fraud, or any corruptive or collusive practices, should be reported to our office.

• Sexual exploitation and abuse:

  The ILO has zero tolerance towards any form of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). In accordance with Office Directive, Prevention and response to sexual exploitation and abuse, IGDS No. 568 (version 1), of 9 July 2020, the Director IAO is designated the Focal Point responsible for the conduct of ILO investigation activities concerning allegations of SEA. Where staff members become aware of situations that may involve SEA in the context of any ILO activity, they must report the matter promptly to the Director IAO in person, by telephone or in writing, including by email [email protected].

• ILO Integrity Hotline: the ILO Integrity Hotline provides a safe, confidential and independent way to report allegations of misconduct at the ILO, by staff, partners or suppliers.

In accordance with Office Directive, Reporting misconduct and protection from retaliation, IGDS No. 551 (version 2), of 5 March 2021, all staff members are entitled to protection against retaliation for reporting misconduct and cooperating with an audit or investigation.
